Slack Guide

If your team are big Slack users, then you’re going to love our Slack integrations.

This guide will take you through getting your team set up with the Sneek Slack integration. Note that the Sneek Slack app is only available for Sneek Pro users, but you can enjoy it during your 7 day trial also.

Step 1 - Link your account to Slack

From inside the Sneek app open up the side navigation and click on the “Account” link. You may be prompted to login again for security purposes.

Scroll to the bottom of the Account page and click the “Link to Slack” button. If you’re already logged into Slack, you’ll be directed to the Slack authorization screen, otherwise you’ll be asked to login to your Slack account.

Note: If you have already used the “Login with Slack” button, then you’ll see a message telling you your account is already connected.

Click the “Authorize” button on the Slack authentication page, and you’re done. You can now login to Sneek using your Slack account and access the other Sneek Slack features once your team is connected.

Step 2 - Install the Sneek Slack app

From inside the Sneek app open up the side navigation and click on the “Account” link. You may be prompted to login again for security purposes.

Scroll to the bottom of the Account page and click the “Add Team to Slack” button. If you’re already logged into Slack, you’ll be directed to the Slack app authorization screen, otherwise you’ll be asked to login to your Slack account.

Click the “Authorize” button on the Slack authorization page, and you’re done.

Step 3 - Have your team mates link their accounts to Slack.

In order to start calls using the “/sneek” command, or send photos of a team mate direct to Slack using “/sneeksnap @user”, your team mates will also need to have their Slack accounts linked to Sneek.

Have them visit their Sneek Account page and follow the instructions outlined here in Step 1.

How to use “/sneek”

Using the /sneek command in Slack lets you start an instant video chat without having to interact directly with Sneek itself. You can start a chat with one team mate, multiple mates or a whole channel. Here’s some example commands:

How to use "/sneeksnap"

When you use Sneek it’s a given that you’re going to get caught in some hilarious poses, and those poses deserve to be shared with everyone. So we created the /sneeksnap Slack command to save you taking screenshots and uploading them manually to your Slack channel. Here’s some example commands:

Post some snaps in your Slack channel and you can all have a jolly old laugh at your teammates expense! Priceless.

If you’re having any issues getting set up drop an email to support@sneek.io, or click the chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of this screen and we’ll give you a hand.
